Here is my project that I created while learning at Sierra Division Academy with my mentor Alex Beddows. The environment is inspired by Alexander Dudar’s concept art for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
My goal with this piece was to build an environment that let me showcase my hard surface modeling skills through believable modular structures. Another big goal was completing an environment in Unreal for the first time. I had to pick things up fast to get this piece to where I wanted it. I learned how to set up array blueprints, build layered materials, handle lighting in UE5, and how to do proper color grading in UE5.
Majority of the assets were created by me. I used a few textures and decals from Friendly Shade, Poliigon, and Megascans. The characters and the barrel are from BigMediumSmall.
Throughout the whole process, Alex guided me and pointed me toward all the information I needed to push this project forward. His art direction pushed me past my comfort zone and helped me hit a new level of quality, so I want to say thank you to Alex and Sierra Division for making this happen :)
